| Assurant is sponsoring its second Miami Habitat house. The company is not only underwriting the construction costs, but throughout the construction of the house 20-25 Assurant employees volunteer on the work site each week (and twice a week during the last month!). When they come to work on the house, Assurant provides breakfast and lunch to the volunteers, Habitat staff and homeowners (making them a favorite among hungry workers). |

Because of the hardworking volunteers who gave their time each week last year, Assurant completed their first sponsored house in only three months, allowing the Caballero family to move in before Christmas of 2001. Assurant started work on their second sponsored house in September 2002. Assurant volunteers gained valuable construction experience last year, which is helping the work progress quickly, and the Diaz family should be moving in by Christmas of 2002. Miami Habitat is proud to work in partnership with Assurant to provide families in need with a simple, decent, affordable home of their own. |
