Blessings Given Blessings Received

More than 80 volunteers came together on July 24th for Miami Habitat’s Summer Faith Day at Eason's Temple, a tiny church in Opa Locka.  After packing the sanctuary for devotionals and instruction, volunteers set out for a day of spirited homebuilding in Liberty City and Miami Gardens.

Morning rains gave way to steamy afternoon work conditions, but the volunteers persevered, determined to finish day’s tasks on nine homes.  By exhibiting the dedication and compassion so common to Habitat volunteers, these folks helped nine more families take one more step to achieving the dream of homeownership, and in the process helped strengthen the communities of Liberty City and Miami Gardens.

As Saturday wound to a close, the exhausted but satisfied volunteers piled together, arm-in-arm, to pose for photographs (click here for more pics!). Another long day of putting God’s love into action was punctuated by the satisfied smiles on volunteers’ faces and the gratitude and best wishes of soon-to-be homeowners.

The next Miami Habitat Faith Day is scheduled for October 9th in Liberty City.
