Over 2,000 volunteers showed up to the Scott-Carver community of Liberty City to work alongside homeowners and sponsors, and all ten houses were finished by the end of the second week.

Blitz Build 2008 was an accelerated construction event which had as its goal the completion of ten homes in two weeks.
The dedication ceremony celebrating the success of the Blitz Build also commemorated the culmination of Habitat's 18-month, 52-house construction project in Scott-Carver. Of the 52 families who now live in Habitat homes in Scott-Carver, 38 were once residents of the projects that stood on that site. They are returning to their old neighborhood not as tenants, but as bona fide homeowners. .jpg)
