“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brothers in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth…
(I John 3:17-18)
Putting Faith into Action
Miami Habitat for Humanity's goal is to show the love of Jesus Christ by building homes in partnership with families who are in need of decent shelter. It is through this mission that the ministry of Miami Habitat allows congregations the opportunity to follow Christ's teachings by serving those in need. Each home built by Habitat is a testimony to the love of God.
How Can Your Congregation Help?
- Pray for the mission of Miami Habitat, its work, and the families who are able to become homeowners through Habitat's ministry.
- Sponsor a home by providing the funds and the volunteer effort necessary to build an entire home independently or by joining with another congregation to share the responsibility.
- Partner with a Habitat family by committing to work alongside that family at least one Saturday a month until their home is complete (approx. 5 months).
- Organize a work crew to come out and build Habitat homes.
- Prepare lunches for Miami Habitat volunteers and families.
- Help spread the word about Miami Habitat and its ministry.
