Brian and Sarah Hambleton

Featured Homeowners

Brian Hambleton was tired.  After a full week of work at one of Baptist Health System’s hospitals and performing sixteen hours of sweat equity on a Habitat house (not his) in Schrader’s Haven, he sat down in a lawn chair next to his wife, Sarah.  He held her hand as the sun started to go down.  They might have been any married couple sitting in their backyard on a weekend evening, except that the 1950s bungalow Brian and Sarah were sitting behind was still uninhabitable.  It would become their home, but not yet.

Homeowners Needed!

You, Good News subscriber, are familiar with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami.  You know that we are committed to providing home ownership opportunities to low income families, and you know that we are currently building homes in Liberty City.  But there are people in need that do not know about Miami Habitat, for whom a home of their own remains an unattainable dream.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami is committed to the idea that no family deserves to live with without access to adequate housing.  We need you to help us find those families that want to move out of their rental apartments and into their own home.  We need you to help us identify those individuals that want to break the cycle of poverty for their families and help build the shelter that will last them for generations.

Miami Habitat hosts informational meetings twice a month for anyone interested in owning a home.  These meetings outline the criteria for home ownership and the Habitat process, and will address specific questions.  Please, if you or someone you know would like to become a homeowner, direct them to one of these meetings.
