Habitat for Humanity Receives Grant

MIAMI (WSVN) -- The JP Morgan Chase Foundation has awarded a $500,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami.

The money will go towards revitalizing Liberty City and create home ownership opportunities for low income families. "Our main priority is not just to build homes but to build communities, so with the help of our sponsors at Chase, we are shinning a light on a community," said Habitat for Humanity CEO Mario Artecona.

The Grant will directly support Miami Habitat's Liberty City Shine campaign to help build or rehabilitate more than 250 homes in Liberty City over the next three years. "I think it could be 30 new homeowners as a result of this grant over the next couple of years, so it's one of those things that Chase wants to be a part of the community and be a bank for those to help them do it but also be a part of helping the community," said JP Morgan Chase Foundation's Mel Martinez.
