Volunteering at Habitat for Humanity
(Miami, FL - March 1, 2011) This last weekend, a crew from Westhorp & Associates (WA) volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Liberty City. As highlighted on our community involvement page, WA has a long and active history of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit, housing organization building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.
Volunteers from WA joined forces with other local volunteers to help with the exterior and interior painting of the house. Armed with rollers, brushes, ladders and love, the volunteers applied two coats of primer to transform the gray stucco, pre-treated wood and unfinished drywall to gleaming white surfaces, ready to accept the pigments in paint, which will give the house a distinctive identity.
The group of volunteers from WA woke up early, eager and clean and finished speckled in paint and drained of energy. However, the satisfaction of working together to help those in need made it all worthwhile. To see more photos of WA at Habitat for Humanity, visit our Facebook page.
