BURGER KING CORP. PARTNERS WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY’S
A BRUSH WITH KINDNESS PROGRAM
MIAMI - NOVEMBER 8, 2011- Burger King Corp. (BKC) has entered into a sponsorship
agreement with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami’s (Miami Habitat) A Brush With
Kindness program (ABWK), which will provide 10 Liberty City homeowners with home
repairs and beautification projects.

Miami Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative seeks to take a holistic approach
to community development. In addition to the projected 200 new single family homes
the organization is building in Liberty City, Habitat is revitalizing existing homes in this
neighborhood and embarking on community partnerships to help achieve this goal.

Members of the Burger King Corp. executive team will kick-off the project on Wednesday,
November 9th. More than a dozen company executives will work alongside the homeowner
to revitalize the home’s exterior.

Burger King Corp.’s past partnerships with Miami Habitat have included a new home
sponsorship as well as more than 10 rehabs in Miami Gardens and Liberty City.

“Burger King Corp. has been a great partner to Habitat, both financially as well as through
the work of more than 500 company volunteers whose efforts have helped many families
in Miami-Dade,” said Mario Artecona, CEO of Miami Habitat. “Theirs is a proven track
record of corporate responsibility.”

ABWK is a nation-wide program serving low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability
and family circumstances who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. ABWK
focuses on exterior home repair services such as painting, minor exterior repairs,
landscaping and exterior clean-up.

“Miami is our home and Burger King Corp. has always taken pride in South Florida and the
caring, giving people who live here,” said José Tomas, Chief People Officer, BKC. “By working
with Habitat Miami, one of the states’s most respected charitable organizations whose
causes and contributions are unmatched, this project is just another way to give back to
the community that has offered us so much support.”

The kick-off will take place at 9:00 am at the home of retired kindergarten teacher, Helen
McCoy, located at 1301 NW 50th Street.

Burger King Corp. executives will present Miami Habitat with their contribution at a brief and
informal ceremony at 12:00 pm.
