Family Dollar Helps Miami Habitat During Holidays

December 24, 2012

Family Dollar, one of the fastest-growing, discount retail chains in the United States, announced today that a total of $555.00 was raised during Family Dollar’s Holiday Giving Campaign, a four-week fundraising initiative in Family Dollar stores to benefit  Habitat For Humanity of Greater Miami. The fundraiser ran from November 26 through December 19.

“During the holiday season, many of us become acutely aware of the everyday struggles of others,” said Howard Levine, Chairman and CEO of Family Dollar. “Fortunately, there are non-profit agencies, like Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, that are helping to make a positive difference for so many in their communities. Our customers really stepped up to raise money for this organization, and they should be proud knowing they have helped to make the holiday season brighter for many in the Miami region.”

Customers were able to take part in the fundraiser by making a monetary donation at the check-out counter of their local store.

"We are thrilled that Family Dollar chose to put on this incredible event," said Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami CEO, Mario Artecona.  "We know there's so much support in this community for our cause, and Family Dollar and its customers really exemplified that as we saw people from all over the area come together to help make a difference for so many this holiday season."
