Women Build

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami’s Women Build kicks off its 2013 edition in style! Starting in March, over 200 volunteers came together to help create a safe, affordable home for Yasma Scott, her two children and one grandson. Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program underwritten by Lowe’s which brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions worldwide. Since the program’s inception in 1998, Women Build volunteers have constructed more than 1,800 houses, including 14 in Miami-Dade County.

Women Build recruits, educates and inspires women to build decent and affordable homes for low-income families in their communities. Many women come to the Women Build site without previous construction experience. Women learn new skills and make a positive impact in the community. Their leadership and service are changing lives.
