Home Sponsors play a critical role in the Miami Habitat mission.
A home Sponsorship allows your team to maximize its volunteer potential, all while helping our organization remain sustainable.
Each year, our Home Sponsors donate about 50% of the total cost of home construction at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami. At the same time, Corporate Sponsors provide their team members up to 150 memorable volunteer opportunities during the construction process of the sponsored home.
Over the last several years, we have welcomed teams from many different companies, Baptist Health South Florida being our biggest sponsor. You can view our most recent sponsors on the2018-2019 Sponsors page and the 2019-2020 Sponsors page.
Q&A
How is a home Sponsorship similar to and different to a single team build? Whereas a Team Build is a one-team-on-one-day volunteer event, our Home Sponsors have their choice of any or all the volunteer opportunities during the 12-15 week construction time of their sponsored home. This allows for more engagement of larger staff.
How many home sponsors do we have each year? Miami Habitat is fortunate to have a sponsor matched to almost every home built – approximately 30-35 homes.
Why should a company consider sponsoring an entire home? In addition to the opportunity for significant volunteer engagement, recognition on all Miami Habitat social media and the Annual Report – House Sponsors will enjoy the most return on investment through tax deductions, including the possibility to participate in Florida’s Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP).
